Mario is a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, the title character of the Mario video game franchise.

He is a fictional character created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, born in the era of flat pixel images, and his current appearance is rendered in 3D modeling by polygonal modeling techniques. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation.
